**Job description - Café Manager**

**Our Company**:
Murchie's Tea & Coffee was founded in British Columbia in 1894. Since then Murchie's has been blending tea and roasting coffee to exacting standards and distributing it through our eight retail stores, grocery stores and food services. Our head office/manufacturing facility is located in Delta and we operate a commercial kitchen and café in our Government Street location in Victoria.

An opportunity at Murchie’s Government Street Cafe in Victoria, BC is available for a Café Manager. We’re looking for a driven and enthusiastic Café Manager. Come join a historic company with an outstanding reputation and loyal clientele.

**The Position**:
The Café Manager will support the Café with a hands-on approach to lead team members in providing exceptional service in a clean, organized and well-presented food service café.

**Responsibilities**:

- Day-to-day leadership and management
- Lead by example, provide excellent customer service by creating an atmosphere where customers are approached, welcomed and served promptly
- Creates an environment that surpasses guests’ expectations
- Recruits, hires and trains new employees and continues to support the development of the entire team
- Creates and supervises schedules and shifts ensuring adequate service in a financially responsible way
- Encourages a positive and healthy working environment
- Ensures all food products are handled correctly as per food safe regulations
- Ensures supply levels are maintained
- Manages and maintains café food cases by keeping displays clean and organized
- Maintain total café cleanliness
- Adheres to dress code

**Skills & Abilities**:

- Leadership experience
- Supports and develops management team
- Scheduling
- Promptly determines customer’s needs, provides an excellent example for others to follow.
- Monitors cash and till operations
- Ability to write supply orders, maintaining correct inventory levels
- Attain and share menu product knowledge
- Have flexibility in schedule, able to work a variety of shifts
- Must have a valid food safe certificate

Pay: From $55,000.00 per year

- 8 hour shift
- Day shift

- Monday to Friday
- Morning shift
- Weekends as needed

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Victoria, BC: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

**Experience**:

- Management: 1 year (preferred)

**Language**:

- English (preferred)
