**Responsibilities**:
The Key Account Manager focuses on the profitable development of existing and new small to large accounts. This role develops and executes on sales plans to identify opportunities and convert these to sales. The Key Account Manager spends up to 80% of their time in the field local to their affiliated store to build and maintain relationships in the account portfolio, securing ongoing orders for all lines of our business.
**Responsibilities**:
- Strengthens and builds customer relationships for retention and wallet share.
- Determines customer trends and makes recommendations on new programs.
- Targets new small to large potential accounts to assess overall opportunities, promotes our value proposition, and secures revenue opportunities.
- Maintains accurate records of all pricing, sales, and activity reports against assigned accounts.
- Prepares and delivers annualized customer pricing agreements.
- Prepares and executes on action plans for declining accounts.
- Deals with customer complaints and adjustments to achieve fair and equitable settlement.
- Works with various department heads to identify and implement changes that drive customer value.
- Maintains customer profiles, including key contacts, sites, call summaries, needs, opportunities, current vendors and dollar spend, motives, and overall sales strategies and objectives.
- Develops and executes on an annual account sales plan to achieve sales budget requirements and profitable growth through net new customer acquisition.
- Makes regular sales calls on assigned customers and prospects to secure profitable business.
- Works with the Director of Sales to design and implement business plans for new opportunities to ensure that the identified growth and profit is achieved and in line with Stephenson’s overall strategic plan.
- Works with internal company resources to capitalize on customer opportunities collaboratively.
- Works with other internal sales channels to transition accounts as they grow to ensure appropriate customer service levels and drive optimum revenue growth.
- Develops and maintains a thorough understanding of competitors in the marketplace.
**Requirements**:
- Minimum 5 to 10 years of sales experience in a Territory Sales Representative/Consultant capacity, with experience in equipment rental, construction, or related industries being a strong asset.
- G Class Driver’s License with a clean drivers abstract
- Technologically proficient with advanced MS Office experience
- Strong administrative, organization, and project management skills.
- Advanced communication, collaboration, and relationship management skills with a proactive approach to problem solving and “get it done attitude”.
- Entrepreneurial self-starter who can independently prioritize tasks and meet deadlines on multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
- Team oriented with a strong work ethic, excellent ability to understand client concerns and meet challenges effectively.
