Finance Manager

Tahinis Restaurants is seeking a Finance Manager to join and lead its Accounting and Finance
Team. This role will report to the Chief Executive Officer and will play an important role in the senior leadership team.

**Responsibilities**
- Report directly to the Chief Executive Officer
- Complete bank and credit card reconciliations
- Oversee GST/HST Filings, government remittances, payroll - including T4s, ROEs, T4 filing, and more
- Prepare reports to all stakeholders including budgets, actuals, and supporting analysis
- Reporting to funders
- Ensure that efficient and effective processes and controls are in place to safeguard assets and to ensure staff and suppliers are paid accurately and on time
- Assist in the preparation of annual CRA filings, up to and including completion of CRA filing
- Accountable for expense management - ensuring the organization is effectively managing the funding received to maximize services provided
- Leads the year-end close process and coordinates the annual financial audit
- Prepares asset, liability, and capital account entries by compiling and analyzing account information.
- Documents financial transactions including donations, grants and program funding by entering account information.
- Recommends financial actions by analyzing accounting options.
- Summarizes current financial status by collecting information; preparing balance sheet, income statement and other reports.
- Substantiates financial transactions by checking documents.
- Maintains accounting controls by preparing and recommending policies and procedures.
- Guides Bookkeeper by coordinating activities and answering questions.
- Reconciles financial accounts, investigates variances and discrepancies by collecting and analyzing account information.
- Secures financial information by ensuring appropriate controls
- Maintains financial security by creating and following internal controls.
- Prepares payments by verifying documentation, and requesting disbursements and preparing needed documentation.
- Answers accounting procedure questions by researching and interpreting accounting policy and regulations.
- Coordinates with the external auditor to ensure appropriate changes, processes and procedures are followed and implemented.
- Prepares special financial reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing account information and trends.
- Maintains discretion and confidentiality in all matters
- Tracks departmental and finance related KPIs and provides suggestions for KPI improvement.
- Tracks and updates accounting information and transactions in related software.
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related tasks as needed.

**Requirements**:
The Finance Manager should have the following skills, education and experience:

- 5 years’ Canadian work experience as an accountant in a similar role
- Critical thinker

- Working in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to train and hold others accountable for their roles in the systems set up for financial wellbeing of the organization

Nice to Have Skills:

- Experience with Quickbooks online
- Audit experience
- Experience in quickly growing organizations

- GAAP: 3 years (required)

Licensed/Certification:

- Chartered Professional Accountant (preferred)
- Certified Management Accountant (preferred

**Salary**: From $70,000.00 per year

Schedule:

- 8 hour shift
