Under the direction of the Manager of Finance and Administration, the Coordinator of Finance provides support in all areas related to the sound financial management of DeafBlind Ontario Services.

**YOUR ROLE**
- Under the direction of the Manager of Finance and Administration, works closely with Managers to provide financial reporting to funders including tracking of Ministry of Community and Social Services (“MCSS”) and Fund Development funding contracts and preparing reports to same.
- Assists in preparing reports for the MCSS including quarterly, project and capital reports.
- Completes month-end reconciliation for all accounts and generates monthly financial statements and makes any necessary adjustments and accruals.
- Prepares monthly financial and budgeting reports for approval by the Manager of Finance and Administration.
- Assists with cash flow projections and financial forecasting. Ensures the appropriate use of lines of credit and other credit facilities, where necessary; estimates adequate cash flow levels and monitors cash requirements over a variety of time frames.
- Responsible for monthly internal audits of house books/ quarterly comfort books to ensure integrity of the internal control system and compliance with the applicable accounting/ financial management policies and procedures.
- Under the direction of the Manager of Finance and Administration, assists in the coordination of organization wide annual operating, Fund Development and capital budgeting process.
- Assists in the draft year-end financial statements and related year end reports; liaises with and assists the Organization’s external auditors.
- Reconciles annual T4 summary and prepares T3010 Charitable Information return. Reconciles all bank accounts on a monthly basis.
- Assists and reports on DeafBlind Ontario Services financial position, relative to budget, for assets, liabilities, revenues and expenses.
- Assists in the preparation of income tax returns for people supported by the organization.
- Maintains the organization’s capital asset listings/ ledger.
- Responsible for accurate and timely filing of semi-annual HST rebate claims.
- In co-ordination with Director of Development & Communications, reconciles records in DonorPerfect Software with general ledger accounts.
- Maintains, monitors, initiates all automatic withdrawal transactions including but not limited to: telephone, internet, cable, equipment lease, cell phone, utility and other similar payments.

**Requirements**:

- Post-Secondary degree or diploma in accounting/finance/business administration
- A recognized accounting designation (CPA) is preferred, (or actively pursuing same)
- One to three years of related experience, along with formal training and demonstrated expertise in business administration and accounting preferably in a not-for-profit setting
- Sound working knowledge of the principles and practices of financial administration, with emphasis on financial controls, budgeting, forecasting and reporting systems
- Strong computer skills with a demonstrated ability to work with various software including, but not limited to, Sage 50, Adobe Acrobat, Microsoft Office
