**The Opportunity**
We are seeking a **Governance Analyst - Trustee Education** to join our Governance team. Reporting to the Manager, Client Relations and Trustee Education, this role will support the development, implementation, and management of governance practices, focusing on the education, development, and appointments of trustees and governing body members.
**Key Responsibilities**:
**Governing Body Support**:
- ** Orientation and onboarding**: Manage the onboarding process for new governing body members, including preparing onboarding materials and facilitating orientation sessions.
- ** Board member appointment process**:Work with a committee to ensure the board member appointment process aligns with succession planning objectives and organizational needs.
- ** Meeting content development**:Develop content for board meetings, focusing on long-term strategic planning, succession planning, and other key governance items.
- ** Governing Body Education and Skills Development**:Design and analyze board member skills assessments to identify development needs and competencies and create personalized learning and development plans for each board member.
- Provide quarterly reports on educational events and opportunities for ongoing director development.
**Knowledge and Abilities include**:
- A strong understanding of board governance standards and regulatory requirements.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects with competing deadlines and consistently produce high quality work to meet program and client needs.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to interact with senior leadership, governing bodies, and external stakeholders.
- Ability to create and deliver educational content, reports and presentations.
- Ability to work independently or collaboratively with other organizations and colleagues, to develop positive working relationships, address issues and establish partnerships.
Typically, the knowledge and experience required to achieve this position is obtained through a combination of:
- completion of post-secondary education in administration, public policy, or economics; or
- a combination of other education and experience.
