Tidewater has an immediate opening for a **Plant Operator**. **This is a full-time position based out of our **Brazeau River Complex**. This is a fast paced, deadline driven role that requires superb organizational skills and the ability to multi-task.

**Plant Operator**

**Summary of Responsibilities**:

- Partakes in plant safety programs
- Ensures all maintenance within their area of control is being carried out in a safe manner and work procedures are being followed, including Safe Work Authorization, Hazard Assessment and LOTO
- All tasks executed in a knowledgeable and safe manner
- Involved in the development and writing of plant standard, critical, and safe operating procedures
- Makes regular checks of all equipment in his area to check operating parameters and to ensure safety regulations are being observed
- Assists the other operators in the Plant as required

**Specific Accountabilities**:

- Receives direction from the Control Room operator on a continuous basis on all abnormal situations or major operating changes. Handles all unit duties with very little supervision. On specific situations may receive direction from Shift Foreman or Chief Steam Engineer.
- Will make recommendations to senior operators or supervisor on technical operating matters for improved operating efficiency and safety.
- Leadership of Junior operators as required

**Qualifications**:

- Minimum three years experience in gas plant operations, preferably with sour gas experience.
- Consideration will be given to those with similar industrial steam plant and processing experience.
- You are a strong team player, capable of working closely with a variety of groups but also a self-starter who is capable of working independently with mínimal supervision.
- Capable of working a rotating 12 hour shift schedule.
- Applicants must possess:

- current H2S, Standard First Aid, WHMIS, and TDG certification.
- a valid driver’s license and provide a driver abstract upon request

**Compensation**:

**Experience**:

- Gas Plant Operations: 3 years (preferred)
- Sour Gas Plant: 3 years (preferred)

Licence/Certification:

- 4th Class Power Engineering certification (preferred)
