Reporting to the Dispatch, the Assistant Dispatcher creates trucking routes that reduce costs but meet customer delivery needs. The Assistant Dispatcher will be responsible for using routing software to establish daily trucking routes that make the required stops outlined in customer contracts. This person will need to be able to adapt to last minute changes and work with drivers to schedule propane and emergency deliveries for customers.

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop delivery routes and maintain contact with drivers;
- Collaborate with Dispatcher and Rep to modify daily routes to accommodate the needs of customers;
- Act as a communication liaison through the computer system and answer incoming phone calls from drivers on the road;
- Keep strong relationships with drivers and customers to reduce the stress that comes with last minute schedule changes;
- Monitor any sudden route changes or road condition issues and work with drivers to establish new routes for timely deliveries;
- Addressing problems and requests by transmitting information or providing solutions;
- Receiving and dispatching orders for products or deliveries;
- Enter data in computer system;
- Plan and organize the dispatch of propane calls for bulk drivers;
- Respond to customer complaints;
- Organize driver schedule daily;
- Help answer the telephone and direct calls;
- Takes care of the driver logs;
- Perform other tasks as required.

**REQUIREMENTS**:

- High-school diploma is required
- Proven experience as dispatcher or relevant position
- Strong interpersonal communication, teamwork, customer service and problem solving skills
- Must be bilingual
- Seasonal (from September to end of March)
- 44 hours a week (with possible overtime)
- 2 weekends in a row (6h to 4h on weekends) one weekend off.

**Job Type**: Seasonal
Contract length: 8 months

Schedule:

- 10 hour shift
- 12 hour shift
- Day shift
- Weekends as needed

Supplemental pay types:

- Overtime pay
