**Position Summary**:
A female with a developmental disabilities is looking for a supportive roommate. The individual is verbal and will require full support with no independent alone time to support their day to day needs.

**Responsibilities**:

- Assisting with home living tasks such as meal preparation
- Supporting individual with home maintenance
- Attending and booking medical and dental appointments
- Providing personal care
- Driving the individual on a day to day basis

**About You**:
You are someone who is compassionate, attentive, easy going, patient and has a passion for working with people with disabilities. You have previous experience working with mental health. You are able to remain calm, patient, and diffuse situations effectively. You have proven critical thinking skills and aren’t afraid to try new things. You have a person-centered approach and will take the time to really get to know your client and act in their best interest, while maintaining professional boundaries.
**Rate of Pay**:
The monthly income for this role is started at $3500 per month, with additional general liability subsidy of $50 is provided for a supportive roommate as well as a respite provider. This individual also has separate additional pay to cover two weekends per month of respite support.
**Home Environment**:
Your home can be located anywhere throughout the city Ideally, there should be very little to no stairs leading up to the house. The individual uses a walker to support themselves and is ideally looking for a bungalow style home to accommodate their needs and will need a one bedroom to accommodate their needs.
**Minimum Requirements**:

- Minimum of a Diploma in the Human Services sector (including but not limited to LPN, Psychology, Child & Youth Worker, Social Work, Sociology, Justice Studies), plus one year relevant experience in the human services field.
- Valid class 5 drivers license and a reliable vehicle with minimum $2,000,000 liability insurance
- Experience with mental health, trauma informed care and worked with individuals with developmental delays
- Open to team meetings
- Home visit required
- Home & commercial liability insurance
