**Summary**

The Procurement Assistant is to provide administrative and support to a Buyer of the Company. In this role, the Procurement Assistant will monitor inventory, update reports, communicate with vendors and clients any required product information. The incumbent must be highly organized and able to show tact and maintain confidentiality.

**This is an 18-month long contract and hours of work is 7AM - 3PM from Monday to Friday.**

**Job Duties**
- Communicate with growers regarding product cost and availability
- Communicate with logistics to ensure timely loading and delivery of products
- Update internal databases with order details (dates, vendors, quantities, discounts)
- Booking of products in advance based on forecasts and inventory levels
- Communicate costs of products to Sales team
- Issuing Purchase Orders to vendors and also working with the accounting department to ensure suppliers are paid
- Maintain updated records of invoices and contracts
- Daily review of inventory to ensure correct counts and FIFO is being followed
- Follow up with suppliers, as needed, to confirm or change orders
- Liaise with warehouse staff to ensure all products arrive in good condition
- Other duties relevant to the position will be assigned as required.

**Requirements**:

- 2-3 years of working experience in a similar role
- Able to communicate professionally both verbally and in writing
- Strong Microsoft Suite skills (Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint)
- Able to work efficiently as part of a team as well as independently
- Attention to detail in all areas of work
- Good organizational, time management and prioritizing skills
- Strong work ethic and problem-solving skills

**Working Conditions**
- Manual dexterity required to use computer and peripherals
- Occasional travel between locations may be required
- Sitting for long periods
- Professional interaction with all staff required including office, warehouse and admin.
- Fast paced and lively business atmosphere.

**Job Type**: Fixed term contract

**Salary**: $50,000.00-$53,000.00 per year
