Hope and Area Transition Society Bookkeeper

The Hope & Area Transition Society is a non-profit organization which provides programs and services to individuals afflicted by social issues.

**Job Summary**:
**Responsibilities**:

- Maintain accurate financial records by recording daily transactions
- Prepare and process invoices, bills, and payments
- Reconcile bank statements and ensure accuracy of financial data
- Assist with budgeting and forecasting processes
- Process payroll and ensure timely payment to employees
- Manage accounts payable by reviewing and verifying invoices
- Handle accounts receivable by generating customer invoices and following up on outstanding payments
- Prepare financial reports for management review
- Assist the finance manager with year-end audits and tax preparations, produces financial statements, budgets and other financial reports.
- Compiles, maintains and produces statistics and reports of such records as seniority lists, vacation entitlement, and sick leave.
- Submits forms to health and welfare benefit carriers to arrange for, change, and terminate coverage for employees.

**Skills**:

- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices
- Proficiency in popular accounting software such as Sage
- Experience with account reconciliation and financial statement preparation
- Attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and record keeping
- Excellent organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and deadlines
- Strong communication skills to interact with clients, vendors, and internal stakeholders
- Ability to work independently with mínimal supervision

**Job Types**: Part-time, Permanent

**Salary**: $25.05-$28.75 per hour

Expected hours: 28 per week

- AEC / DEP or Skilled Trade Certificate (required)

**Experience**:

- Sage: 1 year (preferred)
- Bookkeeping: 1 year (preferred)

- English (preferred)
