**Job description**

Waterfront Park Veterinary Clinic is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic **Veterinary Office Assistant (VOA)** to join our growing team. Established in January 2020, we are a fast-growing clinic committed to providing exceptional care to our patients and outstanding service to our clients.

Veterinary experience is highly preferred.
As a Fear Free practice, **Fear Free Certification is an asset**, though training can be provided.

**Responsibilities**
- Assist the veterinarian during patient examinations, treatments, and procedures
- Safely handle and soothe animals during exams and vaccinations
- Prepare examination rooms and sterilize equipment
- Record patient information such as weight, observations, and medications administered
- Follow veterinarian instructions carefully and support care delivery without crossing clinical boundaries
- Greet clients and their pets in a friendly, calm, and professional manner
- Answer a multi-line phone system and assist clients with questions confidently and courteously
- Schedule appointments and manage front desk operations
- Maintain accurate patient records and medical histories
- Handle payments, invoices, and insurance claims
- Keep reception and clinical areas clean, organized, and sanitized
- Assist veterinarians and technicians with tasks as assigned

**Who We’re Looking For**
- **Previous experience in a customer service or administrative role (required)**:

- Previous experience in animal care or a veterinary setting is preferred
- Comfortable working closely with a veterinarian and following direction
- Professional, respectful, and able to maintain appropriate clinical boundaries
- Calm, focused, and not easily distracted in a medical environment
- Strong communication skills with clear, confident speaking ability
- Friendly, outgoing, and client-focused attitude
- Strong teamwork skills and compassion for animal care
- Attention to detail and ability to follow clinic policies and protocols
- Basic computer skills and experience with office software
- Knowledge of veterinary terminology is a plus (training provided)

Pay: From $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 32 - 40 per week
