**HR Safety Coordinator**

Nor-Tec Group is a full-service electrical contractor. We have been servicing Winnipeg and the far reaches of most of Manitoba for over 35 years. Our experience has been from Institutional projects to Industrial projects to Municipal projects and a variety of Manufacturing Plant projects. We are well versed in servicing all of the electrical needs for a wide variety of clients.

We are looking for a HR Safety Coordinator to provide various human resources and safety functions for union and non-unionized staff. The HR Safety Coordinator will work closely with Management, Field Staff, and other support staff. We provide a unique experience to those looking to gain exposure in a dynamic organization. We are a leader in the construction industry, equipping our team of skilled professionals with vision, guidance, and tools, required to bring construction projects to life.

**Responsibilities of the position would include**:

- Conduct COR audits for the company, and implement corrective action plans from the audit.
- Conduct Monthly Safety Committee Meetings, and workplace inspections. This includes jobsite inspections as required.
- Responsible for drafting up offers of employment.
- Provide orientations for new hires, and offboarding support for management.
- Maintaining employee personnel files.
- Review incidents and perform safety investigations as required.
- Conduct interviews and complete reference checks. Including creating security screenings requests for employees.
- Assisting with the performance review process.
- Updating and developing safety documentation for Field Staff.
- Monitoring WCB claims and the return to work program.
- Scheduling safety training for employees.
- Interacting with and complying with regulatory bodies as required.
- Must be able to pass security background checks.
- Other job duties as assigned.

**Qualifications and skills of the position would include**:

- At a minimum is currently enrolled, or has graduated from a Human Resource Management certificate program and; an Occupational Health and Safety diploma program, or NCSO designation program.
- Knowledge and/or experience in the construction industry and it’s safety practices.
- Proficiency with MS Office Suite products including Excel, Work, and Outlook.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Proven ability to work within a team and independently with mínimal supervision.
- Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks meeting tight deadlines.

**Assets of this position would include**:

- 1-2 years of experience of administrative support is an asset.
- Currently working towards becoming a registered auditor with CSAM (the Construction Safety Association of Manitoba).
