**About this opportunity**
Reporting to the Human Resources Manager, the primary objective of the Human Resources Advisor is to provide a full spectrum of Human Resources support services to the business unit in the areas of, recruitment, on/off
- boarding, employee relations, compliance, performance management and all HR programs.
**When your actions lead to success**:
- Provide advisory and administrative support to the HR Manager and all levels of the Operating Unit for all HR related matters and business initiatives;
- Support with the full cycle recruitment process for internal and external positions including; creating job postings, screening resumes, scheduling and participation in interviews, facilitation of background and reference checks, drafting of employment offers and new hire forms, etc.;
- Support with the new hire onboarding process (documentation & training) for all new hires;
- Advise and coach managers and supervisors on HR related policies, best practices, leadership skills and employee relation issues;
- Manage the administration of employee status changes and amendment paperwork throughout the year;
- Assist the HR Manager with any workforce planning and compensation review initiatives;
- Participate in coaching, discipline and investigation meetings and draft any letters or documentation as required;
- Prepare and deliver training as required as well as maintaining any training records;
- Run monthly and ad hoc reports through the HRIS system and Excel;
- Assist with the annual/mid-year performance and compensation review process for hourly and salaried employees;
- Manage the administration of monthly employee excellence program;
- Coordinate internal seminars and workshops in relation to workplace Health and Wellness;
- Assist in employee engagement initiatives and actively participate in Social Committee meetings and arrange events through the year in coordination with the committee;
- Collect content, pictures/videos of all workplace events and initiatives & help manage social platform engagement (i.e. Instagram)
- Build trust and strong relationships with employees by spending time on the production floor;
- Support and contribute to a healthy and safe work environment by following all workplace regulations, policies, and initiatives, including reporting all first aid injuries, accidents, and workplace hazards
- Additional duties as assigned
**When your expertise drives us**
- Post Secondary Education in **Human Resources** or related experience
- **Minimum 3 - 5 years’ experience in a Human Resources Generalist**role
- Experience in a **manufacturing environment** is an asset
- ** CHRP designation or working towards completion is an asset**:
- Hands on experience with HR platforms such as PeopleSoft & Kronos is an asset
- Possess professional knowledge and practical experience of all legislation and legal requirements pertaining to HR functions (Employment Standards Act & Labour laws, Human Rights and AODA, etc.)
- Tech savvy & proficient with the Microsoft Office Suite
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills are a must;
- Ability to multi-task in a time sensitive and fast-paced environment
- Strong attention to detail and ability to take ownership of tasks
- Team player and problem solver, with a positive attitude
- Ability to exercise tact and discretion in dealing with sensitive and confidential information
- Ability to work independently with little supervision
- Experience with social media platform (Instagram) is an asset
