Esteemed designers are provided with exposure to the aforementioned media outlets. **Key Roles and Responsibilities**:

- Plan and organize VFW’s proactive presence in several communication channels (internationals and locals), including website, digital magazine, social media.
- Write and manage press releases - gather background information on designers, administer press inquiries, and coordinate interviews.
- Work alongside external PR companies to secure feature stories for designers.
- Act as primary media contact. Maintain positive working relationships with media contacts and establish and nurture relationships with media reps across Canada and worldwide. Support the team in creating new media partnerships.
- Create digital media kits for our fashion events, and assist in the fulfillment of requests for materials from press contacts.
- Act as the official media representative at our runway events, working effectively with reporters and editors to encourage coverage of designer’s work including coordinating face-to-face interviews.
- Provide copy editing and proofreading assistance.
- Assist the social media team with communications and promotions.
- Maintain press clippings and photo archiving system.
- Manage VFW’s digital magazine 'Micro Macro', coordinating the publication’s content.
- Prioritize schedules and complete projects within challenging time guidelines.
- Perform other duties as assigned including sales
- selling runway packages to designers.

**Qualifications**:

- Studies in related field, such as Media, Public Relations, Journalism, Digital Communications, or related program.
- Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
- Adept at writing compelling, grammatically correct copy for online channels.
- Self-motivated, well-organized with a strong sense of initiative.
- Prior experience with writing press releases and social media posts is an asset.

**Required Experience**:

- A post-secondary degree or diploma in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations and/or equivalent employment experience
- 2 years marketing, communications, or public relations experience (prior experience in the fashion industry is considered an asset)
- Previous experience with start-to-finish media and content management that included but was not limited to creation, implementation, management and flexibility
- Utmost confidence with content management and tracking software
- Proficiency with MS Office and Google Office (Mail, Drive, and Calendar)

**Job Types**: Full-time, Fixed term contract

**Salary**: From $17.00 per hour

**Education**:

- Bachelor's Degree (preferred)
