**THE OPPORTUNITY**
**Job Summary**
Reporting to the Program Manager, the Program Assistants will work as part of an integrated services team responsible for providing day-to-day support, direct assistance, supervision, and monitoring of residents.
Located at 13620 80th Ave., the Nest is a three-story modular building with 40 studio units and provides on-site staff and support services for residents 24/7, including meal programs, life and employment skills training, health and wellness support services and opportunities for volunteer work.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities*
- Participate in the team’s planning and implementation of quality improvement projects such as evaluating client needs, improving services, and implementing new service strategies.
- Complete regular rounds of facility as scheduled throughout shifts
- Assist in the orientation and training of new staff in the integrated services model combining clinical addiction, housing, employment, and educational services.
- Seek out professional development opportunities and share knowledge including attending staff meetings, educational events and mentoring junior staff.
- Debrief with incoming shifts to ensure detailed transfer of information
- Administrative tasks such as
- Photocopying
- Assisting with case documentation
- Database entries
- Filing
- Preparing new client files
- Professionally answering phones

**THE CANDIDATE**
**Qualifications**
- Post-secondary diploma (2 to 3 years) in social sciences, counselling, social work or community services, or an equivalent combination of experience and education.
- 1 to 3 years of experience working with marginalized populations, substance use services, mental health, corrections, etc., or equivalent
- Preference will be given to those with experience within a community setting, assisting those affected by substance use, concurrent disorders, unemployment, a lack of education, criminal justice involvement, homelessness and poverty-related issues to become active participants in the social, economic and cultural life of the community.
- Strong collaborative approach to delivering and developing programs and services
- Proven communication and conflict resolution skills
- Strong organizational and problem solving skills
- Effectively communicate professionally, verbally and written in English
- Effectively utilize Office suite including Excel, Word, Outlook and central data systems
- Current First Aid/CPR
- Criminal Records check for working with vulnerable populations
