The Phoenix Society is a multi-service agency located in the Lower Mainland of British Columbia dedicated to providing accessible services and opportunities to people who face barriers related to addiction, mental health, housing, education, criminal justice involvement and/or employment.
**JOB SUMMARY**
Located at 13620 80th Ave, The Nest is a three-storey modular building with 40 studio units and provides on-site staff and support services for residents 24/7, including meal programs, life and employment skills training, health and wellness support services and opportunities for volunteer work.
Reporting to the Nest Program Manager, the Supervisor is accountable for the daily operations of The Nest during the shifts and ensures that operational quality requirements and standards of excellence are always maintained
**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Provides supervision, direction, coaching and assistance to Program Assistants and other housing staff in the completion of daily operating tasks.
- Promote good relations within the team - build rapport and trust, share information with others, accept and express suggestions or feedback in a positive, constructive manner, be sensitive to the needs and feelings of others, etc.
- Schedules staff and assists with filling of vacancies.
- Ensures all case management and BC Housing reporting requirements are met.
- Contributes to maintaining a healthy environment following therapeutic community principles which encourage awareness of inter-dependence of community members, and the value of responsible concern for self and others.
- Supervises medication administration and is accountable for ensuring accuracy and completeness of administration and documentation.
- Monitors resident behaviours, reporting up if necessary to maintain a safe, healthy environment.
**QUALIFICATIONS and EXPERIENCE**
- Position requires a 2-year post-secondary diploma. Preference given to those with a degree in a relevant discipline such as social services community services, etc., or equivalent
- 3+ years of experience working with marginalized populations, substance use services, mental health, corrections, etc., or equivalent
- Experience in a non-profit setting is an asset
- High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation
- Strong problem solving, analytical, and creative skills with the ability to exercise sound judgement and make decisions based on accurate and timely analyses
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively in writing and verbally in English
- Satisfactory completion of a criminal records check with vulnerable sector screening is required
- Satisfactory completion of Tuberculosis Screening form is required
- Satisfactory completion of Employee Immunization Record form is required
- First aid certification with CPR is required
- Valid driver’s license is required
- Copy of COVID-19 vaccinations, demonstrating that you have had at least two doses
**SCHEDULE**: This full-time position requires flexible scheduling to meet operational needs.
**_ Note:_**_ _Specific work schedule would be Sunday-Thursday 12:00 pm-8:00 pm, with some flexibility required to meet program needs.
