**THE OPPORTUNITY**:
We’re seeking a skilled and safety-conscious **Equipment Operator 2** to join our Roads team. Reporting to the Roads Supervisor, you’ll operate heavy equipment, perform road maintenance, and support other departments as needed. This is a hands-on role that directly contributes to the safety and quality of life in Lacombe.

**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**:
Safely operate light and heavy equipment for:

- Seasonal road and lane maintenance
- Stormwater drainage channel upkeep
- Emergency and scheduled water/sewer infrastructure repairs (in coordination with Utilities)
- Spring and fall community cleanup campaigns

Conduct daily inspections and basic maintenance on fleet equipment

Perform manual tasks such as:

- Crack sealing, asphalt patching & pothole repairs
- Concrete patching, sign maintenance & traffic control
- Landscaping and general cleanup

Participate in on-call rotations and occasional weekend/overtime work

Maintain a professional appearance and courteous attitude when interacting with the public

Carry out other related duties as assigned

**SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS**
- Strong mechanical aptitude
- Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions
- Physically fit and capable of performing manual labour
- Able to work independently or collaboratively as part of a team
- Professional demeanor when representing the City

**REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND CERTIFICATIONS**
- Minimum 4 years of experience operating heavy equipment
- Valid Class 3 Driver’s Licence with Q endorsement
- Clean driving record

**Salary and Benefits**: $2,400 - $3,000 bi-weekly (based on 40 hours per week dependent on skills and experience). The City offers a generous benefit package, including health and welfare benefits, a pension program, and 6% vacation (approximately 3 weeks) to start.
