The Human Resources Generalist provides project management skills and support to the organization with significant Human Resources focus on the employee experience through attracting and retaining staff, onboarding new recruits, and organizational training and development initiatives.

This role is an integral part of service delivery to the residents of Loyalist Township and contributes to the achievement of our Strategic Plan by supporting the organization to achieve the corporate goal of becoming “An Employer of Choice”.

**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES**:

- Maintain a professional demeanor that reflects our organizational
- Support continuous improvement of recruitment processes to attract a diverse talent pool through inclusive sourcing, posting and interview practices.
- Coordinate the full-cycle recruitment process for summer students, seasonal and part-time employees.
- Create, with input from departments, provide, and maintain an engaging corporate orientation process that welcomes new recruits to the Loyalist structure, our policies, and processes, and to our corporate values.
- Support hiring managers with the creation and maintenance of effective in-department orientation utilizing a coordinated approach.
- Work with leadership to build and maintain a training and development program including but not limited to sourcing identified training needs, coordinating training events, maintaining rosters of training attendance and completion.
- Support and coordinate annual performance development and succession planning
- Oversee the employee lifecycle with a focus on continual improvement and innovation.
- Review exit interviews ensuring feedback is captured, utilized, and reported on for future organizational development and culture initiatives as may be required.
- Oversee the development, distribution, and analysis of employee engagement surveys, including the formation of survey objectives, the implementation of the survey process, and the analysis and presentation of the survey results.
- Responsible for oversight and coordination of various employee recognition, EAP services and wellness programs and initiatives.
- Provide administrative support to payroll in such areas as benefit invoicing and reconciliation, OMERS, probationary letters, etc.
- Update seniority lists and template forms.
- Assist with maintenance of the Human Resources Information System (HRIS).
- Maintain effective records management practices overseeing employee file management in accordance with the Township’s records policies and legislative requirements.
- Undertake special projects and events that positively reinforce our organizational development and culture.
- Undertake research for policies, new initiatives, legislative compliance, compensation, and other Human Resources related matters as required.

Internal**:
Human Resources staff, all people leaders, all staff, and Union Representatives.

External:
Various regulatory representatives, and external service providers.

**WORKING CONDITIONS**:

- Normal busy office environment working conditions apply.
- Will be required to attend meetings, programs, seminars, events which may take place at different facilities (mostly within the Township).
- May be seated for long periods (3-4 hours) and required to do moderate physical exertion.
- The position will require flexibility of hours of work to meet demands and deadlines.
- Occasionally required to deal with frustrated and upset employees with respect to sensitive and confidential information.
