Convergint is looking for a full-time, enthusiastic, results driven and forward-thinking Building Automation Technician to join our amazing culture at our Calgary location. As a Building Automation Technician, you will be responsible for providing customer and technical support for basic to complex systems. The role will also service and support existing customers by responding to service calls, carrying out Customer Support Programs and small projects business.

**What you’ll do with “Our Training and Your Experience”**
- Responds to all types of customer service calls, scheduled maintenance calls, and emergency and after-hours calls on a timely basis; will diagnose, troubleshoot, repair and debug a substantial variety of systems for complex problems. Uses advanced troubleshooting skills to isolate and fix problems in malfunctioning equipment or software. Commissions projects as necessary.
- Identifies and resolves problems for all types of service calls including emergency calls; analyzes repair requirements and provides customer with appropriate solutions; completes necessary repairs and replacements as needed; exercises judgment in selecting methods, techniques, and evaluation criterion for obtaining results. May require originality and ingenuity in some situations.
- Installs, programs & tests a variety of non-routine building automation systems and equipment. Colleague is key interface for the provision of technical support and training for the customer and as such is accountable for maximizing customer satisfaction. Refers only the most complex issues to higher levels.
- Reads blueprints, schematics, manuals, and other specifications to determine installation procedures; Interprets manuals, schematics, and wiring diagrams, and repairs equipment, utilizing knowledge of electronics and using standard test instruments and hand tools.
- Completes accurate and detailed service reports for customer and Convergint to allow for accurate invoicing and job cost tracking.
- Provides technical support to end users and field labour when applicable. Transfers knowledge and expertise to other Specialists.
- Utilize advanced programming skills to execute new and existing projects and troubleshoot problems.
- Using technical knowledge, skills and experience, acts as mentor for less experienced staff.
- Acts as “our customer’s best service provider” at all times thereby ensuring Convergint is the customer’s first choice for service.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as requested or required.

**What You’ll Need**
- 3-5 years of previous Building Automation field experience required.
- HVAC Fundamentals, Open System protocol (BACnet/Lon), experience/certification in Tridium AX/N4, Schneider, Distech, Alerton, Honeywell Spyder required.
- Diploma in Electronics preferred.
- Exceptional customer focus and ability to work under pressure; ability to anticipate and seek to meet the needs and wants of the customer without being prompted.
- Advanced technical skills and experience related to building automation systems, fire alarm systems, and/or electronic security systems.
- Must be a self-starter and work well with mínimal supervision.
- Solid mechanical and electrical aptitude (e.g. works with a variety of hand and power tools such as drill, screwdriver, wire stripper, hacksaw, crimper)
- Valid driver’s license required.
- Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
- Advanced organizational skills
