Construction Estimator

Job responsibilities and required skills are set out below.
Project Management:
1) Complete a detailed review of all project drawings, documents & specifications
2) Review, coordinate, organize and track submittals and shop drawings
3) Prepare tender process, tender documentation, assemble and summarize bids and track requests for information
4) Coordinate pricing with suppliers and trades
5) Prepare scope of work for trades and prepare contracts and purchase orders
6) Coordinate between project team, architects and engineers
7) Prepare, maintain and distribute project documentation including shop-drawings, RFI’s change-orders, site instructions and minutes of meetings
8) Prepare, review and update construction budgets, schedules and progress
9) Plan and implement and project timelines, milestones and deliverables
10) Maintain accurate as-built drawings from project sites
11) Provide construction direction and oversight to project team including site supervisor
12) Conduct weekly on-site meetings with project team and trades
13) Manage project documents including, contracts, insurance, WSIB, safety records, billing to client and payments to trades and suppliers
Estimating:
14) Monitor and review bid/RFP invitations and public and private bid/tender sites
15) Prepare and coordinate full cost estimates and tender packages
16) Prepare takeoffs from project drawings
17) Maintain relationships with suppliers and trades
18) Conduct detailed analysis of contract documents
19) Continually improve estimating practices
Mandatory Skills:
a) Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in Canada
b) Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle high stress and high-pressure situations in a professional, focused and composed manner while delivering optimal results
c) Driver’s Licence and vehicle to conduct site visits
d) Exceptional ability to read drawings and specifications
e) Ability to handle multiple tasks and responsibilities
f) Attention to detail and great organizational skills
g) Ability to solve problems and communicate well
h) Ability to work in AutoCAD and other relevant softwares
**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $75,000.00-$130,000.00 per year
