**Purpose**
Reporting to the Quality Assurance Supervisor, the QA Technician manages the quality and safety standards of product and equipment in the plant. The QA Technician is responsible for ensuring all food contact surfaces are safe and free of contaminates and ensure raw materials and finished product meet the SQF standard for customers.

*

Responsibilities*
- Check plant schedules and coordinate lab scheduling
- Calibrate lab equipment to specified products in schedule
- Perform pre-operational inspections and swabbing of the lines to ensure they are free of possible contaminates
- Inspect batching stations and validate ingredients and processes
- Perform critical control point checks on batching stations
- Receive samples for analysis from batchers and perform bench analysis
- Collect micro-samples and coordinate shipping to external labs
- Perform continuous line checks and GMP checks throughout shift
- Manage any hold, releases, disposals, and rework required
- Manage glass breakage and bodily fluid reports as happens
- Perform tote inspections before production loads with product
- Perform SNCR and NCR investigations
- Perform product analysis for finished product, bench, and sensory analysis
- Manage retain sample collection
- Perform incoming material inspections
- Manage COA for products received and customers
- Document any batching adjustments required
- Perform cooler/freezer inspections
- Perform environmental monitoring
- Send out QA shift reports

Working & Physical Conditions*
- Standing and walking frequently
- High noise levels, ear protection provided if requested
- Exposure to temperature changes, heat, humidity, and cold depending on cooking cycles
- Exposure to dust, allergens, and strong scents
- Handling ingredients and common allergens
- Conflict and Issue Resolution
- Data Interpretation

Qualifications*
- Experience in food manufacturing, minimum 6 months, required
- Minimum College Diploma in relative field, Food Science
- Adequate computer skills
- Willingness to learn
- Able to understand and interpret standard lab equipment

Schedule:

- 8 hour shift
- Monday to Friday
- Night shift

Ability to commute/relocate:

- North York, ON: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

**Experience**:

- Food Manufacturing: 1 year (required)

Shift availability:

- Night Shift (required)

Work Location: In person
