Purchasing & Logistics Specialist

**PURPOSE OF THE JOB**
The Purchasing & Logistics Specialist, reporting to the Purchasing Supervisor, is responsible for supporting purchasing and logistics operations for all Delta 9 companies. Key areas of accountability include purchasing, inventory management, logistics nationally and internationally, and compliance with regulatory requirements. As part of the Purchasing team cross training will be required for all purchasing and shipping / receiving activities.
**PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Purchasing, sourcing, negotiating, forecasting, and PO tracking
- Monitoring inventory levels
- Providing back for the Purchasing Supervisor
- Works within various system environments
- Coordinates with management, and supports various projects
- Sourcing and arranging best logistics solutions for national and international shipments within regulatory requirements.
- Supports shipping and receiving by providing back up for Shipper / Receiver
- Ensures the warehouse is always maintained in a clean and organized fashion
- Operates forklift and activities within the work area in a safe manner.
- Cultivates strong working relationships with all internal and external partners
- Ensures goods are shipped in accordance with organizational best practices and customer requirements
- Receives goods into inventory, including unpacking and verifying contents against appropriate documents; ensures received goods are accurately input into the computer tracking system
- Prepares packages to be sent out in accordance with information on the packing slip, picks and packs goods for shipment
- Maintain Bills of Lading, book and arrange carriers for timely delivery of goods.
- Stock shelves with received shipments, using the appropriate sorting/organization system and equipment, including forklifts
- Other duties as assigned -based on organizational requirements.
**KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED**
- Must have completed high school diploma or GED equivalent
- Must be able to comfortably lift 50 lbs.
- Previous forklift experience preferred
- Ability to obtain a federal security clearance under the ACMPR is a requirement
- Content with repetitive tasks as all scheduled tasks will be required each shift
- Strong computer skills, especially in Microsoft office suite
- Written and oral communications skills required
- Self-starter, independent, also work well in a team
- Fully understands analytics, purchasing, inventory management.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize to meet deadlines
- Experience with regulatory agencies is an asset

- Excellent problem-solving skills
- Must be able to pass a criminal record check
