**Objective**:
Reporting to the Distribution Supervisor, the Warehouse Team Lead ( Receiving) is accountable to lead and coordinate all Receiving daily tasks and any other tasks assigned by the Distribution Supervisor in a manner consistent with company’s best practices, cost objectives, as well as ensuring safe operation of all material handling equipment.
**Position Responsibilities**:
- Responsible for leading the Receiving team
- Manage a safe workplace, while reinforcing a safe work culture, by advocating safety training and accident preparedness; lead the facility in safe and efficient operation of all equipment
- Create and maintain a positive work environment
- Responsible to record attendance and lead morning start-of-shift (SOS) meetings
- Performs daily analysis and makes staffing adjustments to match workflow requirements
- Ensures adherence to proper work protocols
- Responsible for ensuring team performance metrics, volume, productivity goals, and KPI’s are met or exceeded
- Actively engages in training, coaching, and developing of staff with constant open and honest communication
- Ensure all inbound shipments are received, counted, and handed off to the Down Stock or Overstock teams within a 24-hour period
- Responsible for documenting user errors in the system concerning the Receiving team
- Strives for continuous improvement in all facets of the Receiving warehouse environment
- Documents and reports all damages according to Filing Policy
- Supports other departments of the distribution center when needed
- Acts as a backup for the other team leads and/or supervisor
- Establishes and maintains effective relationships with your peers, team, and senior managers to communicate effectively, collaborate across departments, and strategically implement solutions
- Supports and implements special project initiatives assigned by supervisor
- Inspires the team with challenging assignments and coaching to facilitate individual growth and development; fosters a collaborative environment in which diverse backgrounds are respected and valued
- Mediates conflict resolution
**Requirements**:
- Previous experience managing diverse teams of 5+ associates
- 2+ years receiving experience
- Proficient English language skills; fluent reading, writing and oral communication
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in all situations with strong interpersonal skills
- Proven ability to motivate teams and manage conflict; ability to provide feedback and develop other leaders
- Strong reasoning, analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to interpret and understand policies and procedures and relate them to others
- Strong technical skills including Word, Excel and Warehouse Management System experience
- Must be available to support multiple shifts, including being available to work overtime when required
- Excellent knowledge of health and safety and employment standards
