**Position Summary**:
As a Steel Detailer you are expected to work as a member of the Solid Rock Steel team. You will use customer construction drawings to generate both detailed shop fabrication and field erection drawings. You will work alongside the Project Managers by providing problem solving and value engineering solutions. You have the ability to multi-task and work under tight deadlines.

**Reports To**: Detailing / IT Manager

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Review and interpret structural, architectural or other drawings and project standards or specifications to provide detailed steel shop and field erection drawings.
- Use Tekla Structures to model, connect and detail all drawings required for shop & field works.
- Work alongside the Project Management, Shop & Field teams to ensure the 'constructability’ of the items.
- Be capable of performing field measurements and/or scans as required.
- Be organized to ensure correct file maintenance is performed on all assigned projects
- Be able to review drawings for missing details, to follow approval comments, and provide value engineering on projects.
- Be able to identify project changes and follow through on assigned change orders.
- Be capable of providing administrative support as needed.
- Ensure work completed, follows all applicable company procedures and standards as well as those defined in project requirements.
- Be willing to perform other duties as required.
- Hiring from within Canada and at the very minimum, must be a Permanent Resident of Canada and hold a valid BC Driver’s License.
- Have exceptional verbal, written and presentation skills.
- Have a Minimum 5 years of experience in the steel industry in a detailing role, with experience detailing miscellaneous metals preferred.
- Be Proficient in working on projects using Imperial & Metric units.
- Have a high level of knowledge of industry standard detailing practices.
- Have successfully completed a course related to steel detailing (structural detailing certificate is preferred).
- Experience using software, such as Trible Connect, Bluebeam, Procore, MS 365 [Word, Excel, and Outlook], etc. is required.
- Be ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team and meet tight deadlines.

**Other**:

- Previous experience using Trimble Scanning Equipment and Cloud Engine would be an asset.
- Structural Steel ‘Connection Design’ experience is a benefit.
- Have your own means of transport as public transit to our location is not available.

**Compensation**:Negotiable based on experience.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $35.00-$40.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
