**Position Summary**

**Key Responsibilities**
- Read and interpret both Structural and Architectural drawings
- Download and review project plans and specifications
- Identify labour, materials, time constraints, related costs, and other requirements by thoroughly analyzing client tender invitations and project documents
- Conduct risk assessments to account for factors such as weather, schedule, special materials, labour requirements, and contractual obligations
- Interpret project specifications and tender requirements; prepare and submit completed tenders according to bid instructions
- Perform detailed quantity takeoffs with speed and accuracy
- Gather competitive quotes from subcontractors, vendors, and suppliers
- Prepare detailed shop and field estimates, including tender/proposal letters with terms and conditions
- Prepare budget estimates as requested by customers
- Review and assess cost estimates to ensure accuracy and relevance
- Attend site visits to assess access and site conditions
- Attend pre-award and award meetings
- Review prime and subcontracts to identify potential risks to the company
- Follow up on submitted tenders and budgets with customers
- Perform other duties as may be reasonably required to support the company and management

**Requirements**:

- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in structural steel and miscellaneous metals estimating (shop and field)
- Degree in Engineering, Professional Quantity Surveyor (PQS), and/or Construction Estimator Certificate (GSC) considered an asset
- Strong mathematical and analytical skills
- Proficient in both metric and imperial conversions
- Proficiency with Microsoft 365 (Excel, Word) and Bluebeam
- Excellent communication, presentation, and problem-solving abilities
- Knowledge of the Canadian Institute of Steel Construction (CISC) and/or AISC standards is an asset
- Must own a vehicle and be able to travel to construction sites and meetings as required
