The Yorklands Green Hub (YGH) is a non-profit organization working to create a one-of-a-kind green hub in Guelph for the benefit of the community on part of the former Ontario Reformatory (OR) heritage lands. The vision of Yorklands Green Hub is to foster environmental sustainability through educational programming and advocacy, and the public use and stewardship of the site.

We are looking for a self-motivated and energetic person to be our Resource Development Coordinator. This person will be responsible for fundraising and volunteer coordination and engagement to hold events, recruit 25-30 volunteers over 2-years using the Canadian Code for Volunteer Engagement; and implement 3 revenue generating tools including sponsorships.

This is a part-time contract of 25 hours per week for 24 months.

**Major Responsibilities**:
Volunteer Engagement:

- Develop and build relationships with community stakeholders (including neighbourhood groups, under-represented communities, businesses, local and provincial governments, school boards, universities, and other partners to form a Community Engagement Committee
- Coordinate and attend meetings with this Committee to gain feedback on volunteer engagement
- Organize and conduct regular meetings with Committee
- Execute the volunteer management plan by building on existing policies, documents and structures following the Canadian Code for Volunteer Engagement
- Recruit 25-30 new volunteers over the 2-year period and maintain engagement with existing volunteers
- Build volunteers’ capacity in assisting with the operation of our programs by implementing appropriate training and orientations
- Support volunteers and YGH committee leads in carrying out their roles
- Implement recommendations on volunteer engagement and revenue generating ideas as is feasible and appropriate

**Fundraising**:

- Using previous research findings implement fundraising plan to generate revenue for the organization
- Based on Community Engagement Committees recommendations, implement various fundraising methods and revenue generating approaches
- Organize and coordinate fundraising events to generate revenue for the organization
- Prepare and keep to budgets for each event
- Report to Board for approval of each event and budget
- Build relationships with local businesses and acquire at least 3 sponsorships by adapting the organization’s sponsorship package

Reporting and Evaluation:

- Implement systems to track progress and communicate this to the Board and funders
- Implement evaluation systems, to measure successes and outcomes as required by the Board and ensure they can be effectively communicated to the Board, and other interested parties in a timely fashion
- Maintain and ensure records and documentation of all financial transactions are kept and tracked as required and keep within set budgets
- Maintain records of volunteer hours, operations, meeting and program participants, and other metrics as required.

Marketing and Promotion:

- Assist with maintaining and updating website and social media accounts for marketing and promotion
- Promote programs and events in various other ways

**Skills and Qualifications**:

- Post-secondary education, community development/engagement, fundraising, event planning, volunteer management, or other relevant field
- Must demonstrate experience in organizing successful fundraising events
- Must demonstrate experience in community engagement with the ability to collaborate and develop relationships with partners, stakeholders, volunteers, board members and the general public
- Experience developing and maintaining budgets
- Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills, with an emphasis on interpersonal connections, presentations, and facilitation
- Experience with surveys, focus groups and program evaluation
- Must be able to work both independently and with a team
- Detail oriented is a must
- Must demonstrate experience in marketing, and social media
- Experience using Wordpress a key asset
- Must be able to effectively use administrative software, Google Drive, Zoom and MS Office
- Knowledge of environmental stewardship is a key asset

Working Conditions:

- Must be able to walk for extended periods on uneven surfaces on occasion
- Shared space office; remote work including zoom meetings; off-site meetings as requested
- Occasional weekend and/or evening work
