The **Business Development Specialist** will provide comprehensive support to the Vice-President - Construction and Vice-President - Utilities, Fleet & IT. This dynamic position requires the ability to anticipate needs, think critically, and manage a wide range of tasks with a high level of tact, professionalism, and confidentiality. Communications, organization, and priority management are keys to success. Ability to work effectively and enthusiastically in a fast-paced environment, with executive staff is an extremely important trait for this role.
**Please note that this will be a 6-month contract position, with the possibility of extension or transition to a full-time role.**
**Location**: Clearway's Head Office - Maple, ON.**
**Hours of Operations**: 8:00 am to 5:00 pm (EST)**
**Essential Duties & Responsibilities**:
- **Business Analytics -** Participate in the identification, research and development and curation of action plans for a variety of high-level business initiatives including market research, external budget reviews, competition tracking, procurement, business development, etc. including for future threats and opportunities.
- **Information Management and Reporting -** Collect and analyze data from multiple sources, outputting required data, statistics, reports, and presentations.
- **Business Development -** Actively participate in searching for new project opportunities, and creating development and business plans to support new markets or growth projects. This can include coordination and collaboration with the Proposal team on potential future opportunities.
- **Communication -** Coordinate internal and external messaging, both inbound and outbound, ensuring that information is delivered effectively and efficiently. Be capable of networking, public speaking, articulating ideas, and creating narratives. Be confident with collaboration with Estimators, decision makers, and other industry partners and leaders.
- **Administrative Support -** Perform a broad range of administrative tasks, including assisting with special projects, expense report preparation, record and produce meeting minutes. Execute and deliver daily, weekly, monthly and annual reports as required by the executive team.
- **Calendar Management -** Manage inquiries and requests while troubleshooting conflicts, making judgements and recommendations where appropriate to ensure priorities are properly addressed.
- **Meeting Coordination -** Schedule and manage invitations and conflicts for meetings with internal staff and external customers and stakeholders.
- **Correspondence -** Prepare draft and final letters and documents for both internal and external distribution.
**Requirements**:
- Post-secondary diploma or degree in Business Administration or similar field
- 5-8 years of administration experience, including directly supporting one or more senior management team members
- An interest in construction
- Well-developed interpersonal, oral and written communication skills
- Perceptive listening skills
- Strong critical thinking skills and attention to detail
- Effective time management and organizational skills
- Self motivated and driven by success
- Adept at multi-tasking and prioritizing
- Proven ability to work independently and within a team environment
- Valid Ontario Drivers Licence
- Must be legally eligible to work in Canada - no work permit sponsorship is available for this position
