**What you Bring**:

- Work closely with the VP Estimating to deliver improvements on bidding strategy, progress and reviews
- Lead and manage the estimating team to deliver accurate and timely project estimates.
- Oversee the preparation of detailed cost estimates, including labor, materials, and overheads.
- Collaborate with senior management and clients to align on project scopes, budgets, and timelines.
- Determine if tenders are of acceptable quality/risk profile to be accepted for tender and respond to clients appropriately
- Develop and implement estimating processes and standards to improve efficiency and accuracy.
- Analyze market trends and vendor pricing to ensure competitive and realistic estimates
- Ability to complete full quantity take-off of all equipment and materials required to complete the project as per contract specifications to ensure accuracy of pricing, including both engineered and field run systems
- Ability to review scope of work prior to issuing to subcontractors and complete a gap/overlap analysis.
- Ability to provide direction on scope and requirements to the suppliers and sub contractors based on specifications included in the tender
- Ability to review subcontractors pricing, inclusions, exclusions or qualifications for price evaluation and sub contractor selection
- Identify execution risks with full comprehension of the tender documentation, develop project plans, and mitigate risks
- Developed trades specific construction execution plans that are effective and support the scheduled activities, which may also include integration of multiple trades
- Identify pricing risks with full comprehension of the tender documentation, develop proposal terms and conditions to support/defend pricing, and mitigate risks
- Can estimate project costs for a given project under various contract styles, unit price, lump sum, time and materials (T&M), and using a quantity-based system or conceptual proposal
- Estimate preparation for costs of materials, labour, sub trades, equipment and produces a final tender submission

**Requirements**:

- 7-10 years of estimation experience in heavy industrial with site experience
- Highly proficient with Mechanical Equipment/Piping, Drawings, Schematics and Specifications
- Proficient with other trades drawings and specifications is an asset
- General construction knowledge and the integration of other trades work, understands specifications, methods and procedures
- Capable of identifying constructability issues in complex situations and creating solutions in the construction plan and schedule
- Experience in preparation proposal documents such as Preliminary Schedules, Manpower Loading Charts, Work Execution Plans, Organization Charts, etc.
- Proven competency in the operation of key office software and productivity tool such as; Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word), NAVIS Works, and Adobe Reader
- Strong organizational and planning skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities over long hours in a fast-paced environment

- Previous experience:

- Industrial Construction: Hands-on experience with estimating and managing costs specific to industrial construction environments and projects.
- Industrial Construction Estimator: Proven experience in estimating costs for industrial construction projects.
- Cost Estimator: Experience in evaluating and projecting costs for construction and mechanical systems.
- Project Estimator: Demonstrated ability to assess and estimate costs for large-scale projects.
- Estimating: Broad experience in estimating practices, including reading drawings and calculating material and labor costs.
