Structural Steel Quality Control Inspector

Garneau Manufacturing Inc., an established Fabrication company in Morinville, is currently looking for full-time Quality Control Inspector. The position is primarily a Monday to Friday day shift position with a focus on keeping our commitment to providing our customers with the quality they deserve. Employees must have their own means of transportation and hand tools.

Education, Skills and Experience
- CWB Level 1 Ticket or above certification
- Must be familiar with FCAW (Flux Core Arc Welding) and MCAW (Metal Cored Arc Welding); all positions.
- Must have 3 to 5 years of experience in a structural steel/shop environment.
- Must have experience with working with welders/shop foreman in a welding environment.
- Must be able to read and understand written planning and following verbal instructions.
- Ability to effectively manage time and meet all specified deadlines.
- Must pay acute attention to detail to ensure quality standards are met.
- Must have a ‘safety first’ attitude in and out of the shop.

Duties Include:

- Ensure compliance with client standards for quality identified in technical drawings. Document all controls that are put in place.
- Assist Shipper/Receiver with inspecting in-coming materials for quality and assist in the maintenance of the MTR system.
- Conduct preparatory inspections at each stage of fabrication. Identify problems and work with the shop team to rectify them immediately.
- Arrange for independent testing and inspections as required.
- Arrange supervisory inspections with Project Manager.
- Prepare project turnover packages.
- Conduct the final inspection of finished product prior to delivery.
- Attending daily toolbox meetings.
- Additional responsibilities as assigned.
