Overall Accountability

The Business Manager supervises and monitors all school accounting functions and is responsible for monitoring and reporting on fiscal activity for the school.

Specific Accountabilities
- Plans and oversees fiscal activities for the school
- Prepares and monitors budgets
- Compiles and analyzes data to prepare various reports and summaries
- Supervises and guides the work of school accounting staff
- Monitors audit procedures and controls, merchandising and fund-raising activities
- Monitors the purchasing and receiving functions
- Oversees and manages setup and collection of school and District fees
- Oversees and maintains control of all keys issued to staff
- Manages Tubby bus records, including inspections and maintenance in accordance with Provincial Highway Traffic Act

**Qualifications**:

- Bachelor of commerce or equivalent degree with accounting major and/or a recognized accounting designation, or
- Two (2) year accounting diploma with a minimum of two (2) years’ related experience
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office
- Familiarity with PeopleSoft, Rycor Fee management system and School Cash Net
- Excellent knowledge of school information records system software
- Well organized and able to multi-task in a busy work environment
- Excellent communication, organization and interpersonal skills
