Founded in 1969, the Vancouver Academy of Music (VAM) is a non-profit institution that has been spreading a love of learning and musical excellence for generations of aspiring musicians. Minutes away from downtown in a traffic-calmed location, VAM is housed in a spacious facility with teaching studios, large classrooms, two performance halls, and the inspiring scenic backdrop of Vanier Park.

In addition to private lessons and class instruction, VAM students have the opportunity to engage with world-renowned visiting artists in masterclasses, exchange with national and international partners, and participate in numerous performance and competition opportunities. VAM’s fundamental purpose is to explore the transformative power of music through fostering an inclusive learning environment led by a team of devoted faculty with strong professional backgrounds.

Reporting to the Director of Operations, the Front Office Administrator plays a key role in customer-facing service and administrative support to help ensure that VAM’s operations run smoothly and efficiently. The Front Office Administrator will be expected to foster a positive working environment and maintain the same standard of communication and professionalism upheld by all administrative staff. Working hours are 10:00am-6:00pm, Monday-Friday, in person at the VAM facility with occasional weekends and evenings to assist with major school events.

**Responsibilities**
- Serve as the front line of service in the front office, assisting customers in person and by phone
- Timely, courteous, and professional communication and conduct
- Faculty services, including coordination of studio bookings
- Assist with student registrations and tuition payments at the front desk
- Organize select student recitals
- Data entry for ancillary programs such as exams and competitions
- Other administrative support as needed

**Qualifications**
- Outstanding customer service skills
- Excellent written and spoken communication
- Strong attention to detail
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Ability to reliably commute to the VAM facility
- Experience working in an educational setting an asset
- Music experience and/or knowledge an asset

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: $33,500.00 per year
