**As the Labour Relations Officer, you will**:

- Lead/participate in collective bargaining and negotiations as may be assigned by the Senior Manager of Labour Relations
- Participate in conciliation and interest arbitration where required
- Provide support to negotiations through various supportive roles including research, analysis, drafting of collective agreement language, gathering relevant data/documentation/information, etc.
- Under the guidance of the LR Manager, provide labour relations support, dispute resolution and provision of LR advice to HR Consultants in departments.
- Proactively develop and maintain an open, professional and positive relationship with the City's unions and associations, and with contacts within City departments.
- Participate as directed in special projects involving corporate-wide human resource issues.

**Your education and qualifications include**:
1.Post-secondary degree in a related field (e.g. human resources, labour relations, labour law, commerce, public sector administration) or an equivalent combination of related education, training and experience.

3. Experience with interpretation and administration of multiple collective agreements.

4. Experience negotiating settlements and resolving disputes with various bargaining agents.

5. Experience assisting with the collective bargaining process.

6. Analytical skills with the ability to assess situations, seek multiple perspectives, gather information, and identify critical issues to address.

7. Ability to work independently, exercising sound judgement on matters quickly and effectively.

8. Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with various stakeholders at all levels.

9. Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities in high stress environment.

10. Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to summarize and present information clearly to ensure understanding across various audiences.

11. Knowledge of relevant employment related legislation, collective agreement language, and the ability to understand and work with internal administrative rules, processes and protocols.

12. Knowledge of the duty to accommodate and effective accommodation processes.

- Must possess and maintain a valid Class 5 Full Manitoba Driver’s License.
