Join our team as our newest **Accounts Payable Associate** on our **DAY SHIFT**

**Your daily responsibilities will include**:

- Ensure that quantity and description agree to pack slip and price agrees to our purchase order before processing
- Code all invoices with G/L Distribution when processing
- Verify Invoices for correctness to posting edit list before posting
- Process debit memos when adjustments are necessary to vendor accounts
- All TBA invoices are to be signed off by the appropriate party
- Verify that vendor statements are balanced with our records and that all returnable container credits are received
- Weekly cheque runs paying utilities, employee expenses, garnishees, postage, and vendor discounts
- Monthly cheque run for payment for all vendor accounts
- Telephone for cheques by courier collect/picked as requested by vendors
- Filing for all paid invoices after cheque runs are complete and other reports as required
- Responsible for petty cash to ensure a supply is always on hand and responsible to keep balanced
- Phone contact with vendors to deal with their inquiries in a timely efficient manner
- Responsible to close the month-end and year-end periods
- Assist the V.P of Finance and/ or The controller when special projects arise
- Resolve disputes with vendors, purchasing and receiving
- Other duties as required

**What are we looking for?**
- Post - Secondary education in Accounting is required or experience in a related field
- 1 - 3 years experience
- Proficient in Microsoft Applications
- Excellent communication both verbal and written
- Great organizational skills and a keen eye for attention to details
- Strong Problem-solving skills
- Payroll experience is an asset
