**Overview**

The Production Team Leader (PTL) is responsible for being a leadership resource to team members, providing knowledge, experience, motivation, support and advice. The PTL ensures that production activities are carried out efficiently and with strict adherence to quality & safety standards.

**Main Responsibilities**
- Assign and schedule job duties to employees under the PTLs assigned sector/shift.
- Coordinate and monitor shifts and assess employee performance to daily production targets. Make necessary adjustments as needed to ensure targets are met.
- Maintain constant communication with the production supervisor on current or potential issues regarding production or employees.
- Coordinate and perform (as needed) the training of employees.
- Update the training material for all employees working in formulation
- Replace employees during breaks, days off or if required by the planning schedule to ensure production needs are satisfied.
- Ensure health & safety, sanitation, and quality standards set by the company are met.
- Ensure all production areas are clean and tidy throughout the day and at the end of each shift.
- Ensure production documentation (e.g., batch records, logbooks) is properly completed on time.
- Communicate goals, targets, and information to all employees to ensure productivity. As required perform real-time adjustments and/or get proactively the support needed.
- Participate in investigations/deviations
- Participate in establishing the needs of production (e.g., personnel, equipment).
- Work/communicate closely with the receiving team for products availabilities
- Back-up for this role is the Production Supervisor

**Qualifications**
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in nutraceutical/pharmaceutical/food manufacturing is required
- A minimum of 1 year of experience as a Lead Hand/Team Lead (preferred)
- Should be comfortable working in 12-hour shifts
- Ability to work assigned hours, including overtime.
- Computer proficiency and the ability to make arithmetic calculations, complete routine reports and forms, and the ability to understand and follow directions as given are also necessary
- Demonstrated ability to multitask and work with urgency in a fast-paced production environment;
- Must be an effective communicator who inspires and motivates, and creates an environment for open and trusting 2-way communication within production;
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds independently (on an occasional basis).
- Strong understanding of operations and safety practices in a pharmaceutical manufacturing environment;
- Strong work ethic
- Expected to understand the importance of time management and be proactive at all times.
- Must be a swift learner and an excellent coach to train their teammates and so would be expected to have excellent problem-solving skills to effectively handle the challenges and problems in the production department.
- Functional bilingualism (English and French), both spoken and written are required
