**The Opportunity**

Reporting to and working collaboratively with the Senior Director, the Human Resources (HR) Generalist provides support for all programs and services within the HR portfolio. This role is accountable for key administrative and coordination activities supporting the life cycle of current and prospective employees including recruitment, onboarding, maintenance of the HRIS system, data and analytics, compensation analysis, performance management, correspondence, and communications.

**Key Responsibilities**

The Human Resources Generalist will provide essential administrative and support services for the Alberta Children’s Hospital Foundation, with a focus on the following:

- Act as the first point of contact for human resources (HR) and human resource information system (HRIS), queries, responding to questions, providing guidance, and escalating issues when appropriate.
- Work collaboratively with the Payroll & Benefits Specialist (“Specialist”) to ensure the data integrity and accuracy of information within ADP WFN and other systems. Develop written correspondence and information updates for the ADP landing page to ensure employees can easily access the information and resources they need.
- Contribute to the development and maintenance of HR processes, workflows, and documentation as well as the records required for audit purposes and statutory compliance. Work with the Specialist to prepare for and support the annual audit process, providing the reporting, files, and documents needed for the external auditors.
- Produce semi-monthly, monthly, and annual reports, identifying trends and providing updates to the Senior Director. Conduct ad-hoc research and reporting as required. Work collaboratively with the Senior Director and the Specialist to complete monthly variance analysis, quarterly forecast, and annual budget planning for salary and benefits.
- Complete the HR onboarding process. This includes capturing new hire information in our HRIS system, coordinating logistics with other team members, preparing welcome packages, conducting an orientation to the HRIS, and providing an overview of HR policies, practices, and procedures. Work with the hiring manager to support an overall positive experience for our new hires.
- Assist with the coordination of employee engagement and recognition activities including the annual survey, pulse survey, anniversary recognition, and other programs.
- Provide support in the update, development, administration, and tracking of the annual performance review process. Act as a liaison for employees, supporting the use of the performance management module in ADP WFN. Assist employees and managers with updating job descriptions on an annual basis or when changes take place.
- Work collaboratively with the Specialist to ensure pay, benefit, and pension related updates are documented and captured in the appropriate systems. This includes tracking and updating changes related to FTE, leave of absence, compensation, benefits, and position. This role will be responsible for the development of documentation supporting these changes and for ensuring proper approval of changes.
- Participate in salary projection and compensation market surveys. Develop data sets with compensation survey results, providing benchmarking data and preliminary data analysis to support compensation discussions and reviews.
- Refresh and lead health & safety policies, procedures, and activities, ensuring compliance with the OHS Act as well as specific site requirements. Demonstrate a commitment to a healthy and safe work environment.
