We’re seeking a dedicated Facilities Maintenance Associate that will work well with our team. As a Facilities Maintenance Associate, you are responsible for maintaining Harvest’s facilities. This position performs minor maintenance duties in maintaining building, adjacent walks and grounds, and equipment in clean, orderly, and functional condition.Key Responsibilities: Perform preventative maintenance and minor repairs on building systems, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical components. Conduct regular facility inspections to identify wear, damage, or safety concerns and take corrective action. Complete light electrical tasks such as replacing light fixtures, cords, and minor components. Handle minor plumbing work, including fixing leaks, replacing fixtures, and unclogging drains. Perform general carpentry and painting work, such as patching drywall, hanging doors, installing shelving, and painting surfaces. Maintain the cleanliness and safety of outdoor areas, including walkways, entrances, and parking lots—seasonal duties like snow shoveling or de-icing may be required. Assist with the coordination and setup for internal and external events, including moving furniture, assembling equipment, and setting up spaces. Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, inspections, and repairs. Monitor and manage inventory of tools, materials, and supplies, and notify management when restocking is needed. Coordinate with external contractors and service providers for specialized work or larger repairs. Support workplace health and safety by inspecting emergency equipment (e.g., fire extinguishers, alarms) and ensuring proper signage and exits. Respond promptly to service requests and emergencies, including after-hours issues when necessary. As a member of the Harvest Manitoba CREW, support the team however needed to ensure operational needs are met. Qualifications & Experience Minimum of four years relevant current work experience in facility maintenance. Basic understanding of electrical, plumbing and carpentry is an asset. Ability to lift minimum 50 pounds. Bending at the waist, sitting, kneeling, laying horizontally, climbing, walking, etc., as a job may require. Use of Preventative Maintenance Software. Use of Office 365 software (email, word, excel). Demonstrated understanding of local building codes, fire codes, health & safety legislation, and accessibility regulations. Strong understanding of preventative maintenance planning, work order tracking, and infrastructure lifecycle management. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Experience maintaining or interpreting technical documentation, SDS sheets, WHMIS protocols, and building schematics or plans.
