The most important aspect of our company’s operations is our dedicated people; **our people will always be the source of our success and their safety and health will always come first.** We are currently seeking a **_Facility Maintenance Technician_** to join our team.
The Facility Maintenance Technician is responsible for assisting the Facility Maintenance Manager in all general and preventative maintenance for all buildings and property there by keeping the property operational and safe for all employees, visitors, and general contractors.
**Duties and Responsibilities**
- Upkeep, maintenance and repair of grounds, buildings and related structures
- Report unsafe conditions
- Determines the need for and acquires supplies, materials and equipment required to perform assigned work
- Performs preventative maintenance of all building and grounds related equipment as required
- Assists Facility Manager by inspecting work in progress and completed work to verify adherence or compliance to specifications and standards and to prepare reports to superiors concerning work activities.
- Performs various manual labor tasks such as shoveling, snow blowing, spreading salt and sand on pedestrian walkways, roadways and parking lots.
- Operates light and heavy equipment and hand tools
- Participates in safety initiative’s
**Qualifications**
**_ Ideally you have_** prior experience providing general maintenance support to a multi-building organization. Applicants with a 5th Class Power Class engineer designation or equivalent experience would be a preferred. Strong interpersonal skills, capable of working independently and manage both short and long term tasks and projects. Excellent communication skills to work within a team, with contractors and temporary workers. Prior experience in facility and site maintenance would be ideal.
**Physical Requirements**
Some of the physical demands may include, but not be limited to: Walking on long distances, lifting equipment and parts, repetitive motion tasks. Using the telephone and computer while sitting.
