The Help Desk Technician is at the forefront of technical support, ensuring our employees are well-equipped with the technology and assistance they need to serve our community effectively. The Technician will offer guidance and training to users on best practices and new technologies and assist users with hardware and software issues in a timely and professional manner. This role will handle, prioritize and document incoming user support requests, and resolve issues using diagnostic tools. This resolution may require assisting remotely or directly at the user's desktop as well as help in the setup, configuration, and maintenance of computer systems and peripherals, requiring the Technician to be onsite.  Requirements include: A one-year certificate in Computer Sciences or Information Technology from a recognized post-secondary institution and one year (in the last two years) of full-time related experience in a computer technical support or computer help desk role. The successful candidate will also have a valid BC Class 5 Drivers’ Licence. Demonstrated experience in a customer service environment is a plus. Possession of an ITIL Foundations v3 certificate would be an asset. Candidates with an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. You will have a solid understanding of computer systems, mobile devices, and other tech products. You will also have strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to effectively assist users and troubleshoot effectively and resolve issues independently. Demonstrated experience in a customer service environment is a plus.
