**Job Description and Responsibilities**:
**Primary Role**: First point of contact; manage check-ins, sales, customer service, and facility presentation.
The **Front Desk Associate** serves as our members’ first point of contact and manages all aspects of their membership experience. This position reports to Lauren Smith, Gym Manager and owners Corey Swiergosz and Andrew Kersten.
**Core Responsibilities**:
- Customer Service:
- Greet all members and visitors warmly.
- Handle guest passes, drop-ins, and day-to-day member feedback.
- Membership Sales:
- Give tours of the facility.
- Explain membership options, upsell add-ons (personal training, classes).
- Close sales and manage new member sign-ups.
- Check-In & Security:
- Monitor member check-ins and verify active memberships.
- Manage waivers for guests and trials.
- Report suspicious behavior or safety concerns to the GM.
- Retail & Point-of-Sale:
- Sell supplements, apparel, drinks, and snacks.
- Restock and merchandise front desk items.
- Manage POS system and reconcile till at shift end.
- Marketing & Promotion Support:
- Post real-time content (e.g., stories, member shoutouts).
- Promote upcoming events, specials, and merch drops.
- Collect testimonials and help with content creation (photos/videos).
- Cleanliness & Presentation:
- Wipe down the front desk area and maintain lobby tidiness.
- Tidy shelves, fold apparel, and organize displays.
- Monitor the main gym floor for cleanliness; vacuuming when needed, refilling paper-towel and other supplies as required, cleaning any spills, and ensuring all gym equipment is stored properly and put away.
**Working Hours and Compensation**:
- The Employee's initial working hours shall be 8 hours per week over 2 shifts (Tuesday and Wednesday), with the possibility of increasing hours as the position evolves.
- The starting wage for this position shall be $18 per hour.
**Qualifications**:
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and Google Suite
- Strong computer skills with data entry experience
- Excellent customer service and phone etiquette
- Familiarity with clerical tasks and administrative experience
- Experience in social media marketing and sales is an asset
- Experience in equipment repair and maintenance is an asset
