NAIT’s Advanced Plumbing Diploma program is currently recruiting an instructor who is an energetic leader, committed to student success, and has outstanding communication, interpersonal and organizational skills. The successful candidate will:have strong technical knowledge in advanced plumbingbe able to work both independently and within a team environmentbring passion, enthusiasm, and ideas that will positively contribute to the advancement and growth of the program and the culture of our collaborative and dynamic team Key Responsibilities: Prepare and present learning outcomes and activities in a classroom, laboratory and industry settingParticipating in curriculum development, program reviews and course reviewsFacilitate the learning process by utilizing instructional strategies that ensure efficient and effective delivery of course materialsManage instructional delivery and set the tone and climate for a safe and effective learning environmentDeliver instruction both in class and onlineCreate assessment tools to evaluate the learning process and maintain progress recordsProvide early and on-going coaching and tutoring for students to maximize student success and retentionRespond to student issuesUtilize appropriate educational technology for presentations, communications and program promotionsMaintenance and/or submission of program/student records accurately and promptlyMaintain professional and ethical relationships with students, colleagues, and industry partnersUtilize regular student feedback to identify and implement instructional improvementImprove the quality of instruction through professional development activitiesOther duties as assigned Skills & Abilities: Excellent interpersonal SkillsStrong desire to help students succeedExcellent communication skillsComputer skills and aptitude Qualifications: High School DiplomaCompletion of an Alberta journeyperson certificate in plumbing obtaining a red seal and a b class gasfitter ticket requiredMinimum of 5 years of recent industry experience post journeyperson (with preference given to those actively working in the trade)Additional journeyperson certificates considered an assetAdditional plumbing-related coursework and/or credentials would be considered an assetTeaching experience an assetCompletion of (PTE120) Becoming a Master Instructor coursework would be an asset Applicants with education credentials earned outside of Canada should have their credentials evaluated by World Education Services (WES), International Qualifications Assessment Service (IQAS) or the Comparative Education Services (CES). Remuneration:Will commensurate with education and experience, plus a comprehensive benefits package. Instructor salary grid $65,218.00 - $113,452.00 annually. However, starting salary for new hires averages between $78,998.00 - $85,889.00 annually based on education and experience with room for negotiations. (Classification – Instructor).
