Our range of specialized services has made our reputation in Canada.Reporting to the Lead Surveyor or Superintendent, the Surveyor assists the existing project team with various site management and coordination tasks:Prepare and maintain sketches, maps, reports in order to describe, certify, and assume liability for work performed.Verify the accuracy of survey data, including measurements and calculations conducted at survey sites.Record the results of surveys, including the shape, contour, location, elevation, and dimensions.Prepare or supervise preparation of all data, charts, plots, maps, records, and documents related to surveys.Plan and conduct ground surveys designed to establish baselines, elevations, and other geodetic measurements.Coordinate findings with the work of engineering and architectural personnel, clients, and others concerned with projects.Adjust surveying instruments in order to maintain their accuracy.Establish fixed points for use in making maps, using geodetic and engineering instruments.Analyze survey objectives and specifications in order to prepare survey proposals or to direct others in survey proposal preparation.Develop criteria for survey methods and procedures.Collaborate with subcontracted BCLS on structure monitoring and legal survey tasks.Direct subcontracted aerial and bathymetric surveys of specified geographical areas.RequirementsCompletion of post-secondary studies or applicable training; 2 to 5 years of relevant work experience in a similar position;Good knowledge of Job Site Health and Safety rules and regulations;Knowledge of MS Office Suite, MS Project and AutoCAD;Project is located in the Campbell River area;Bilingual (an asset), but proficiency in English language with excellent communication skills (written and verbal) is required.Skills and Attitudes Required/Competencies Strong analytical and problem-solving skills;Excellent communication skills;Excellent time-management skills and ability to prioritize work;Strong organizational and leadership skills;Result-driven and quality-oriented;Team player.BenefitsCompetitive salary; 4 weeks of annual vacation;Flexible group insurance program upon entry;Company Corporate Clothing Program; Group RRSP with employer contribution to a Deferred Profit Sharing Plan (DPSP);24-hour access to a virtual doctor (telemedicine);Training and development programs;Employee assistance program;Active social club and health and wellness committee;Diverse, innovative, and stimulating environment;A company built on values of respect; integrity, and a job well done;Firm recognized as one of Canada's Best Managed Companies.Requirements2 to 5 years of relevant work experience in a similar position; Good knowledge of Job Site Health and Safety rules and regulations; Knowledge of MS Office Suite, MS Project and AutoCAD; Bilingual (an asset), but proficiency in English language with excellent communication skills (written and verbal) is required.
