Plains is looking for a highly organized, reliable, and detail-oriented Operations Technician for our processing plant located in Sarnia, Ontario, Canada. Reporting to the Team Lead, the ideal candidate will excel in a team environment and be responsible for the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of the facility.Plains provides a top tier group benefit plan for employees and their eligible dependents, and new employees are eligible to participate on the first day of employment.Responsibilities:Operating, maintaining, and/or repairing equipment and systems as well as completing equipment startup, shutdown, and isolation.Working effectively in a team environment to monitor, log, resolve, and escalate operational and safety issues.Ensuring compliance with all regulatory standards, policies, procedures, and site-specific training.Maintaining appropriate records and documents and submitting reports as required.Maintaining the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition.Following prescribed safety regulations.Qualifications:Minimum Grade XII education.4th class Power Engineering Certification, Gas Processing certification, CPET or PETC, and/or equivalent trade tickets considered a strong asset.2+ years of pipeline and/or oil and gas experience preferred.Strong mechanical aptitude.Previous experience in gas/NGL processing and/or field operations considered an asset.Previous experience in railcar loading considered an asset.Self-motivated and energetic with effective written and verbal communication skills.Strong computer and problem-solving skills. Able to identify opportunities for optimization and improvement.Permanent residency within 120 km of the Sarnia Facility.Valid drivers’ license with a clean abstract in the job posting province.Cleared criminal history (background) and satisfactory reference checks.Compliance with the Company’s drug and alcohol policy including pre-employment screening.This position is not eligible for employment-based visa sponsorship. Applicants must be authorized to work in Canada for the duration of their employment.Estimated base hourly rate will be within this range: $39.79/hour - $45.64/hr.The actual base hourly rate is dependent upon various factors such as education/certifications, training, skills, qualifications, competencies, years of experience, job-related knowledge, scope of the role, and location.
