The Lab Technician will be a key part of our Operations team, reporting directly to the Lab Lead. In this role, you'll focus on ensuring the accuracy and quality of our lab data, while also helping to identify opportunities to make our testing processes more efficient and reliable. You'll work closely with fellow technicians and collaborate with our Quality Assurance team to support ongoing improvements and uphold our high standards.
Minimum Requirements:
- Diploma in Chemical Sciences, Lab Technician, Technologist or a related program- Experience with ISO 9001:2015 standard compliance and requirements- GLP (Good Lab Practices) knowledge and skills- Experience with Gas Chromatography instrumentation & software- Strong attention to detail for accuracy and reporting
Responsibilities:
- Adhere to Suncor Energy’s safety, health and environmental standards- Perform property testing on various refinery streams and finished products- Follow statistical rules and perform corrective actions- Perform minor maintenance and troubleshooting on laboratory equipment- Record all testing results in the Lab Information Management System (LIMS)- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
Location & Other Key Details:
- You will work out of our Sarnia location in Ontario, located at 1900 St. Clair Parkway- The shift schedule is a rotating shift with 8 hour days and 10 hour shifts, which is inclusive of being scheduled to work on varying weekends as part of a rotating shift.
