Join Western Union as a Business Development ExecutiveWestern Union powers your pursuit.This face-to-face role will build new business by driving new revenue, transactions, and sales growth with new accounts, agents, and customers across Downtown Greater Toronto Area. It is an important part of our overall strategy as we propel growth in a competitive business environment. In this pivotal role, you will play an integral part in the Western Union sales organization.Role Responsibilities Discover, sign, and activate high-revenue, high-potential retail stores across the assigned territory, focusing on independently owned microbusinesses such as grocery stores, convenience stores, check cashers, and multiservice retailers.Conduct in-person visits with prospective accounts, traveling the assigned territory 4–5 days per week to build relationships and drive new business acquisition. This may involve traveling overnight once or twice per month as appropriate for business needs.Manage the end-to-end sales process, including lead generation, qualifying opportunities based on revenue potential, presenting the value proposition, contract negotiation, signing, training, merchandising, and early-life account support.Deliver new high-volume agent locations while ensuring all new contracts are secured at a positive contribution margin.Ensure a smooth handover of productive and activated agents to the Account Management team.Scan the territory regularly to identify and prioritize high-quality retail prospects, leveraging Market Information and Foreign-Born population data to build a robust pipeline.Support new agent onboarding by collecting required documents, conducting agent training, and managing hardware and software installation to ensure successful activation.Generate and analyze reports to identify opportunities, anticipate risks, and optimize performance during the ramp-up process.Secure structured deals and competitor takeaways to maximize Western Union’s market share.Manage existing network relationships when required, providing business and operational support to ensure continuity and drive channel growth.This position will require regular travel within a defined territory.Role Requirements70% Travel Expected.Minimum 2–3 years of sales experience, preferably within the Money Transfer or financial services industry.A documented track record of meeting or exceeding sales quotas and successfully onboarding high-performance retail partners.High School Diploma or equivalent.Multilingual is highly preferred. Fluency in English is required. Valid Driver’s License is required, as this role requires frequent travel within the defined territory.Strong communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively engage internal and external stakeholders.Ability to build and maintain a high-quality pipeline, analyze market data, and identify high-opportunity leads.SalaryThe on-target earnings range is $110,000 - $120,000 CAD per year, which includes a base salary plus a high-impact commission structure that aligns with individual and company performance.
