About the Role We are seeking an experienced Human Resources Generalist to support our team through thoughtful, consistent, and people-focused HR practices. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys the day-to-day work of HR, values stability, and takes pride in creating a supportive and well-run workplace. This role is designed as an individual contributor position, with an emphasis on supporting ongoing operations. Ensuring our team members feel supported, respected, and cared for. This is an in-office position in Nanaimo. Remote or hybrid arrangements are not available for this role. Key Responsibilities Employee Support & Relations Serve as a trusted, approachable point of contact for employee questions and concernsSupport a positive, respectful, and inclusive workplace cultureProvide guidance on HR policies, procedures, and best practicesHandle employee matters with discretion, empathy, and professionalism HR Operations & Administration Oversee day-to-day HR administration and record keepingCoordinate benefits administration, enrollment, and employee inquiriesSupport payroll processes in collaboration with accounting/payroll providersMaintain accurate employee files and documentationEnsure compliance with applicable employment standards and regulations Onboarding & Offboarding Coordinate smooth onboarding for new hiresSupport off-boarding processes with professionalism and careEnsure documentation and processes are completed accurately and on time Policies, Processes & Compliance Maintain and update HR policies and employee documentation as neededSupport consistent application of policies across the organizationAssist leadership with HR guidance and best practices when required What We're Looking For Several years of experience in a generalist HR roleStrong knowledge of core HR functions and employment practicesCalm, professional, and emotionally mature approach to people mattersHigh level of discretion, integrity, and trustworthinessExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsOrganized, dependable, and detail-orientedComfortable working independently in a stable, established environmentValues long-term contribution, consistency, and team well-being This role is: Hands-on and people-focusedGrounded in day-to-day HR workSupportive, steady, and relationship-driven This role is not: Focused on rapid growth or organizational overhaulA remote or work-from-home role Why Join Us Join a long-established, stable company with excellent employee retentionWork with a respectful, loyal, and supportive teamEnjoy a balanced, in-office role in Nanaimo with a strong sense of community Be part of a company that genuinely values its people and culture.
