The YHCC champions youth health, and health equity and facilitates youth engagement as a component of health-promoting schools. The position works with youth and fosters cooperation and collaboration among school administrators, teachers, SchoolsPlus, guidance, student/youth support workers, primary health care, mental health and addictions, and other community partners to ensure youth have access to support, programs, and services within the school and community that promote health. The YHCC models and provides safe, equitable, and inclusive youth support and understands the diverse experiences of the school and the surrounding community.About YouWe would love to hear from you if you have the following:Baccalaureate degree in a relevant health care discipline (registered nurse, occupational therapist, social work, nutritionist).Minimum of three years’ experience in a relevant field; directly working with youth is required.Registered/licensed with your regulated health care discipline, college or association is required (registered nurse, occupational therapist, social work, nutritionist).Must have a valid driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicleAbility to work independently and as a member of a multidisciplinary team both within the organization and in the communityAbility to critically assess situations, and navigate complex scenarios using sound decision-making and a non-judgmental , trauma-informed approach in supporting youth.
