Duties and responsibilities:

- Building relationships with and supporting vulnerable youth who are at risk of experiencing homelessness
- Mentor and support youth as a positive adult role model
- Support youth in crisis and their families, ensuring safety planning is in place and communicated with the Program Coordinator
- Coaching youth in various life skills, such as cooking, employment, education, interpersonal relationships, safety planning and daily household coordination (Example: Grocery shopping on a budget)
- Keeping the house organized and clean and ensuring the youth are participating in household chores
- Being prepared to assist in transporting of youth to community activities/work/school (We provide milage compensation)
- Participating in regular meetings with staff/leadership
- Professional Documentation of confidential information (Including Daily Progress Logs, electronic HIFIS Case Management Systems and Incident Reports)

Assets:

- Experience in mentoring or counselling youth, including youth in crisis situations
- Approach and view all youth participants with unconditional positive regard
- Must have strong communication skills and committed to acting with professionalism
- Must be a ‘team-player,’ who cares for others and contributes positively to the workplace culture
- Understanding of resources available for youth within the community
- Understanding of cultural humility, cultural identities, and resources available

**Requirements**:

- Relevant education or experience in one-on-one mentorship, community development, lived-life experience, or other applicable fields.
- Ability to provide a current criminal record check and vulnerable sector check
- Must have a Class 5 Driver's license and be a safe, competent driver willing to transport youth in your own personal vehicle - Driver’s abstract required - Minimum $2 million liability insurance
- Relevant training including current First Aid & CPR, ASIST, Non-Violent Crisis Intervention, Therapeutic Crisis Intervention
- Criminal Records Check & CPS Vulnerable Sector Check - checks must be done upon completion of hiring, renewing every expiration date

**Job Types**: Full-time, Casual

Pay: $21.50 per hour
