Prince of Wales is currently seeking a Conference Service Manager to join our growing teamSituated in the heart of Niagara on the Lake, our luxury boutique of hotels and restaurants host guests from all over the worldThis is an excellent opportunity for those who have previous experience working in conference services or have managed events previously.Duties and Responsibilities:Primary Responsibilities: Provide personalized and exceptional guest service at every given opportunityMeeting established up-selling and sales goalsWorks closely with the Food & Beverage Manager to ensure details are completed for all eventsCoordinates and prepares BEO’s for all functions booked by the Group Sales teamWorks with all outlets to finalize all details of functionBooks all outside activities and prepares appropriate paperwork for billing purposesAttends daily Operations and Function meetingsHandles all walk-ins and inquiriesIs on site for his/her co-coordinated eventsAssists with complaint resolutionAssists Servers, Bartenders, Porters and Bussers as required during peak timesMeets deadlines and quotes set by Food & Beverage ManagerEnsures all Guest-related problems are brought to the attention of the Food and Beverage Manager in a timely mannerAll aspects of client billingHaving a thorough knowledge of Lais Hotel Properties’ products and servicesSuggesting additional product and services meeting our Guests’ specific preferencesAssessing Guests’ individual needs to meet standards for additional products and servicesActively seeking ways to meet Guests’ product or service needsAll other duties as assignedSecondary Responsibilities:Can perform duties as an Outlet Supervisor as required, including leading the team and service, group D/R billing, reservations systemFilling Duty Manager shifts when requiredProfessional Requirements:Excellent communication skills both oral and writtenExtensive food and beverage knowledgeKnowledge of all aspects of conference and catering groupsPost-secondary education preferably in the hospitality industryPrevious background in banquets/catering industry of two (2) yearsGood computer skills at intermediate level in word processingKnowledge of computer programs such as Maestro, Microsoft Word and Excel an assetPrevious up-selling and/or sales experience is considered an assetPersonal Attributes:Demonstrates ability to deal effectively with a variety of people and resolve conflict when necessaryProfessional appearance and demeanor, positive and proactive attitude, demonstrates the following qualities: flexibility, dependability and a high level of team orientation and service orientationWorks well in a fast-paced environmentAble to handle stress in a professional mannerGood time management, office administration and organizational skillsShows initiativeStrong interpersonal skillsCapable of prioritizing a variety of tasksConfidence in selling and up-selling products and servicesPositive sales-oriented personalityDesire to meet goalsEthical and honestQuestions, quoting the job title and location, may be directed to Lais Hotel Properties Limited is committed to fostering a diverse, inclusive, and accessible workplace where all individuals are valued and respected.
