Job Description CAREER OPPORTUNITY RPN – Expression of Interest 2025-344 The Opportunity: The Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) will work under the direction of the Behavioural Success Agent (BSA) as a member of the Patient Flow team. This opportunity will focus on providing clinical support to older adults presenting with dementia and/or responsive behaviours, as well as offering guidance and resources to their care partners. They will collaborate with the ED staff to assist with education surrounding intervention and guidance of individuals with dementia. They would also assist with education regarding the implementation of the bCAM screening tool in the ED. Qualifications: Current Certificate of Registration as a Registered Practical Nurse with the College of Nurses of OntarioCurrent BCLS CertificationMinimum one year-year acute care nursing experienceEmergency Department and/or other applicable nursing experience an assetStrong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to deal with the public in a courteous mannerAbility to function as a team member in a collaborative environmentAbility to accept direction and work independently Duties and Responsibilities: Collaborate with the ED team and BSA to ensure timely assessment and interventions for patients with cognitive impairmentsProvide education, coaching, and capacity building within the ED team to strengthen skills in managing responsive behavioursDevelop and distribute information and resource packages for caregivers to support them at home following dischargeMeet established assessment and intervention metricsAssist with the implementation of the bCAM in the Emergency Department More Information: Location: Emergency Department Employee Group: SEIU Service Employment Type: Temporary Full-Time (until March 2026) Start Date: ASAP Hours of Work: Day shift. 7 days per week.
