Service Writer (Temporary 2 months Leave Coverage - Possibility for extension)Location: Rocky View County, Calgary AB T4A 3N8Candidates must be located nearby and have reliable transportationHourly Rate: $25/hourDuration: Temporary assignment (approximately 2 months to start; reassessed thereafter)Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.Position SummaryThe Service Writer is responsible for coordinating and prioritizing vehicle repair and maintenance requests to minimize fleet downtime. This role supports the maintenance team by maintaining accurate service records, tracking preventative maintenance schedules, and assisting with maintenance budget oversight to ensure the safe and reliable operation of the fleet.Key ResponsibilitiesServe as the first point of contact for internal customers regarding vehicle service and maintenance needsMaintain detailed equipment damage and service recordsSchedule vendor repairs and create purchase ordersReceive and track purchase orders and completed workLiaise with Claims regarding equipment damage and follow up with Operations to complete driver reportsMaintain clear, ongoing communication with Operations and provide status updates as requiredRequired Experience & Qualifications1–2 years of relevant experienceFleet maintenance experience is an asset; strong administrative or trades-related experience will also be consideredExperience creating and receiving purchase ordersExperience with service operations, order tracking, and work order schedulingExperience with transportation or fleet management software (experience with Transman is an asset)Strong computer skills and ability to learn new systemsStrong organizational and expediting skillsHigh school diploma (asset)Disclaimer: This is currently for an active job opportunity.
